Biography
Bess Singing From the moment Bess Cavendish begins to speak, the craving to hear her sing begins. Born and raised in a 14th Century priory in picturesque Suffolk, a region renowned for its stunning landscapes and beautiful coastlines, Bess’ early hunger pangs for song were initially nourished by her mother’s own musical talents and inspirations. Cited alongside such greats as Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman and folk singer, Joan Armatrading, Bess still warmly considers her mother among her principal influences in music to date.

Bess Smile Bess began writing and performing from an early age, drawing on her own experiences and those of her peers growing up to produce intelligent lyrics to compliment her organic tone, and hone her desire to carve out a career in music.

Such strong roots in music drew Bess towards study at Surrey’s highly acclaimed Academy of Contemporary Music in October 2002, where she achieved a Diploma and Higher Diploma in Vocals by 2004, all the while making ties with key producers and song writers, and continuing to write and perform material of her own.

Jelone Party Having worked alongside the likes of Phil Thornalley, former Cure member and writer and producer behind Natalie Imbruglia’s hugely successful debut single, “Torn” and double platinum selling debut album, ‘Left Of The Middle’, Bess has completed an impressive set of four demos which have already whet the appetites of several major record labels and producers alike.

Her ambitions have recently relocated her from her rural beginnings to the ultra vibrant Notting Hill, where her vocals have already been put to use by the Stereo MC’s and independently showcased in a number of live performances across the City.

Bess glasses Bess is in full possession of one of the most unique sounds of the moment; embracing earthy tones that herald an unspoken maturity into fresh elements of guitar driven pop; Bess is an artist so instinctual in her performance and abilities, such potential and ease of talent make her no less than an absolute for the sound of the future.
